- 支持带宽: 最高 400MHz(TDD)

Ericsson credited VodafoneThree as the first operator to deploy its AIR 3266 Massive MIMO radio in a live network, giving it an edge in 5G capacity and coverage and laying the foundations for AI usage. VodafoneThree is employing the radio in the UK’s capital city London as part of a broader upgrade programme for its standalone (SA) 5G infrastructure which involves deploying Ericsson’s equipment across more than 10,000 sites and the operator’s core. Ericsson explained the AIR 3266 addresses the various challenges operators now face regarding surging mobile data use and the physical limitations affecting current sites, with the equipment housed in an “ultra-slim” body weighing 16kg. The Massive MIMO radio provides TDD technology and compatibility for bandwidth of “up to 400MHZ” to boost spectral efficiency and overall network performance. It enables VodafoneThree to wring more performance from mid-band spectrum to boost its SA 5G capacity. Ericsson highlighted potential environmental benefits, citing energy savings of at least 30% and a 50% reduction in embodied carbon compared with previously-deployed systems. Iain Milligan, network development and infrastructure director with VodafoneThree, said deploying the Ericsson radio furthers an “?11 billion investment” in its network and prepares the operator for AI developments including real-time network optimisation. Ericsson highlighted a scheduling function for link adaptation which testing indicates could boost downlink throughput by 20% during periods of congestion. VodafoneThree is set to trial the scheduler by end-March 2027 and deploy it over the remainder of the year. The post VodafoneThree pioneers Ericsson Massive MIMO appeared first on Mobile World Live .
